Upcoming Fundraiser in aid of West Clare Mini Marathon

It’s aces high (hopefully!) on Sunday November 1st 2015, as Matt Keating’s and Vanessa Breen’s WEST CLARE CANCER POKER CLASSIC fundraiser in aid of the West Clare Mini Marathon gets under way.  Starting at 7p.m. in the Westbridge Bar in Miltown Malbay, Prize Money is €1,500.00 pro rata and tickets are €25.00 each.  For more information or to sponsor a spot-prize, contact Vanessa on (085) 1326111, Matt on (086) 6049444 & Michael Talty on (087) 26636010.  Tickets are also available from Mags Keane in Keanes Bar Carrigaholt.

A Sincere Thank-You to the family and friends of the Marie McDonagh Clancy Foundation and Doolin Harley Fest……..

The West Clare Cancer Centre Committee wishes to express its deepest gratitude to the Doolin Harley Fest event organisers for their incredibly generous donation of €4,000.00 to our Cancer Centre here in Kilkee.

Marie, whose family founded the Charity, ‘Marie’s Foundation’ in her name, passed away from Ovarian Cancer in May 2014, at just 39 years of age. Marie’s husband James, brother in law Mark and friend Jimmy came up with the idea of the Doolin Harley Fest to help raise awareness for ovarian cancer and also to raise funds for local cancer charities.

To date, Doolin Harley Fest has raised a phenomenal €37,589.00 in aid of the foundation. Marie’s Foundation has shared these funds with cancer charities at both a local and national level.

A Big Thank You To Our Philanthropic Friends

We want to express our deepest gratitude to Pat Boland and fellow Officers of the County Clare Golf Outing Benefit Fund, Inc., of which Pat is President, for their recent donation of Eight Thousand Dollars (€6,896.55) to the West Clare Cancer Centre here in Kilkee. Pat, who resides in Yonkers, New York, is, himself, a native of Kilkee, Co. Clare. The Charity is in its twentieth year and the two other beneficiaries of this year’s fundraiser, held on July 30th 2015, were St. Clare’s School in Ennis, Co. Clare and the YWCA White Plains Special Needs Programs in New York. This is a phenomenal achievement and a marvellous reflection of everybody involved.

Sincere thanks to you all, our “every-day hereos”.

The West Clare Mini Marathon Committee wishes to congratulate and thank Mary T Mc Inerney for another amazing Tractor Run event held on Sunday, 19th July last, and also for the resultant tremendous donation of €4,408.52 to the West Clare Cancer Centre.  The huge level of commitment and dedication invested by all really means so much to our Cancer Centre here in Kilkee and we sincerely appreciate the endeavours of everybody involved.  It is people such as yourself who are the life-blood of any voluntary organisation.
