The West Clare Mini Marathon Committee wishes to express its sincere gratitude to some of our local ‘everyday heroes’ Pats Hassett, Mags Keane and Lorraine Morrissey for their recent Tractor Run in Carrigaholt, Mary T. McInerney for her Tractor Run event in Mullagh and Teresa O’Gorman, Cross Festival Committee, all of whom donated the proceeds of their respective events to the West Clare Cancer Centre, Kilkee, County Clare. We truly do appreciate the commitment and dedication of all our fund-raisers.
Unfortunately, it has come to our attention that unauthorised, fraudulent sponsorship cards are in circulation in the Adare area, purporting to raise funds for the West Clare Mini Marathon Cancer Centre. The Gardaí in Newcastle West have been informed and are investigating the matter. The West Clare Mini Marathon is held on the last Sunday in January, annually. We would ask people to please be vigilant and should they be approached for sponsorship, to contact the Gardai. We would ask our friends and followers to please share this information. Thank you for your support, the West Clare Mini Marathon Committee.
