WEST COAST MCC RAISE €11,350.00 FOR WEST CLARE CANCER CENTRE!!!!!

Sincere thanks to the West Coast Mcc for their amazing donation of €11,350.00 from their Bike Push Fundraiser held on 4th August last, in memory of the late Suzanne Cottam – a great friend and supporter of the club who sadly passed away earlier this year.
Thanks also to Dermot, Suzanne’s brother and fellow member of West Coast Mcc, sister Marie, to Mark and Robyn, Suzanne’s husband and daughter, and to her parents and extended family for their generosity in nominating the West Clare Mini Marathon Cancer Care Centre as the beneficiary of monies raised. The West Coast Mcc are an amazing group of people who have raised in excess of €100K for charity over the years and deserve recognition for their outstanding contribution to charity. Sincere thanks again to everybody involved!

HUGE THANKS AND CONGRATULATIONS to Peter Cauldwell and Beth Cauldwell on the success of Peter’s Epic Bike Ride Challenge from Rosslare to Carrigaholt, which commenced on July 4th last and finished in Carrigaholt on Sunday July 15th. Peter’s mission was a dual-purpose fundraiser – raising funds for his local Blisland Community Shop in Cornwall and for the West Clare Cancer Centre in Kilkee, a mammoth undertaking indeed which he took in his considerably long stride! Peter raised the fantastic sum of €902.00 for the West Clare Cancer Centre – a marvellous achievement, and we are truly grateful to him!

Sincere thanks to Pats HassettMags Keane, Lorraine Morrissey Morrisseys Bar Carrigaholt, to those who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure that the day went off without a hitch, and of course, to each and every one of the drivers – this year’s event saw a record-breaking 100 tractors depart Carrigaholt and make their way to Loophead and back again with military macarena-like finesse.
Again, huge thanks to the cast and crew of this steadily growing annual fundraiser for your commitment and dedication to the West Clare Mini Marathon Cancer Care Centre!

Vhi WOMENS MINI MARATHON
The Vhi Women’s Mini Marathon, an annual 10k charity road race, occurs each June bank holiday weekend in Dublin and is the largest Women’s event of its kind in the world.

In 1983, the inaugural event had 9,000 women entering and the event reached a record attendance in 2014 with over 41,000 women taking part. The event has grown in popularity as women have taken more interest in their own health and fitness. A staggering 1 million women have entered the event over its 35 years.

Hundreds of charities are also big winners. In 2017, it is estimated that €9.3m was raised on the day for charities, bringing the estimated total raised, since the race started, to more than €210m.

The women decide themselves which charity they will support and many local causes gain vital funds from the event. It is now the largest one day charity event in the country.

TWENTIETH ANNUAL WEST CLARE MINI MARATHON Sunday 25th February 2018!!!!!!

20th WEST CLARE MINI MARATHON SUNDAY 25th FEBRUARY 2018.
As we prepare for the 20th Annual West Clare Mini Marathon, we look back on the achievements of the group over the past twenty years; from the provision of funding for palliative care in Ennistymon General Hospital and in Regina House in Kilrush, to its daily support services such as transport for chemotherapy and radiotherapy appointments, counselling, complementary therapies, pilgrimage funding, and the provision of palliative aids for patients home use. It truly is a remarkable achievement by the inhabitants of West Clare Communities uniting and working together, forging their own paths in achieving and retaining these vital services for West Clare.  PEOPLE HELPING PEOPLE.
